On October 16, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission hosted the launch ceremony for the 2025 Employment Service Season for college graduates at Beijing University of Technology. Coinciding with this event were a campus-enterprise matchmaking conference and a large-scale job fair.

During the matchmaking conference, representatives from over 70 universities in Beijing engaged in in-depth discussions with more than 40 employers, aiming to address the recruitment needs for 2025 graduates and to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry. Meanwhile, over 3,000 graduates met face-to-face with nearly 200 employers at the job fair, where they could submit resumes and participate in on-the-spot interviews.

Li Yi, Director of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, attended the launch ceremony. He emphasized that college graduates represent a valuable talent pool, reflecting the political, public, and strategic aspects of education. Li outlined three critical responsibilities in employment, particularly for graduates: first, a heightened sense of responsibility and mission in facilitating employment; second, the establishment of a comprehensive “big employment” framework that engages everyone throughout the entire process; and third, an active push for campus-enterprise connections to uncover more high-quality job opportunities, ensuring substantial and quality employment for the 2025 graduating class.

On the same day, the job fair featured a consultation zone where employment guidance experts from a city-level mentor program offered services, including military enlistment advice, policy inquiries, resume reviews, and career planning consultations.

To enhance employment services for the 2025 graduates, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission plans to solidify its foundation in career services, adopt a broad perspective on employment, and implement a comprehensive framework for education and services. This initiative includes six specific focuses: first, expanding the job market by intensifying efforts to connect with companies and uncovering more high-quality job resources; second, deepening career education and guidance through a variety of activities aimed at helping students develop positive career and employment perspectives; third, assisting universities in creating a cohesive system connecting enrollment, education, and employment that aligns with national strategic needs and the economic development of the capital; fourth, promoting the normalization of employment and entrepreneurship practices to improve service quality; fifth, rolling out version 2.0 of the Beijing Graduate Employment Platform and Resource Management System to provide accurate and efficient services; and sixth, opening a new location for the Beijing College Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Center to broaden services in job markets, entrepreneurial incubation, and training exchanges.

On the day of the launch, 14 specialized campus job fairs were held across universities in the city, signaling a strong start to the employment service season. To date, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission has scheduled over 120 job fairs for 2025 graduates, with plans to hold more than 300 employment service events by the summer of next year. These events will cover a variety of sectors, including information technology, smart manufacturing, biomedicine, and cultural education, offering graduates a diverse range of job opportunities.
