On October 25th, the 2024 “Bincheng Craftsman Cup” Industrial Robot Technology Invitational Competition kicked off at the Advanced Manufacturing Vocational Skills Public Training Center in Tianjin Binhai New Area.

This year’s competition features a two-person format, attracting 18 teams and a total of 36 participants from 12 enterprises and educational institutions. The contest comprises five key components: industrial robot system installation and adjustment, robot system programming and debugging, automatic operation and backup, as well as an emphasis on professionalism and sportsmanship. Participants are assessed on their technical skills in hardware installation, software programming, automated operation, and maintenance of industrial robots.

During the event, competitors faced challenges like system installation and programming debugging with composure and analytical thinking, demonstrating not only their technical expertise but also their mental resilience. One contestant from Tianjin Binhai Vocational College’s Intelligent Manufacturing Department shared, “As a student majoring in industrial robotics, this competition has provided me with invaluable knowledge that I couldn’t acquire in school. It has significantly enhanced my skills and laid a solid foundation for my future career and entrepreneurial endeavors.”

It was highlighted that in recent years, Tianjin Binhai New Area has been advancing its “1+3+4” modern industrial system and promoting the construction of a “Skills Binhai” initiative. Skill competitions have been pivotal in identifying and nurturing a pool of talented individuals with strong technical capabilities. The Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone has focused on building a skilled workforce by fostering a training system that integrates industry enterprises, vocational colleges, government initiatives, and social support.

Looking ahead, the upcoming second edition of the “Bincheng Craftsman Cup” will expand on the initial 12 competition categories by introducing additional events in artificial intelligence, IT innovation, and intelligent manufacturing. This expansion aims to further develop participants’ hands-on practical skills and innovative capabilities, ultimately contributing to the cultivation of high-level, innovative, and versatile talents essential for achieving high-quality development in the region.
