On October 22, 2023, a cultural exchange event celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Russia took place in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.
This event was co-hosted by China Central Television (CCTV) and the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. Chinese and Russian guests came together to witness the launch of the “What Civilization? Encountering Liangzhu” 2024 Global Exhibition’s special showcase in Russia, along with the initiation of the joint media project “Encountering China” and the documentary series “My Chinese Story.”
The “What Civilization? Encountering Liangzhu” exhibition aims to introduce the rich history and cultural significance of Liangzhu civilization. Through traditional cultural experiences, special exhibitions, and creative product displays, the event seeks to immerse the Russian audience in the profound and enduring charm of Chinese civilization.
The newly launched joint media project “Encountering China” features reporters from both countries exploring the theme of Chinese-style modernization. They will travel to places like Zhejiang and Sichuan to showcase the achievements of comprehensive reforms across various sectors in China and the development opportunities these present to the world. The four-part documentary series “My Chinese Story,” aired on mainstream Russian media, tells touching stories of deep cooperation and shared opportunities between the two nations, as seen through the eyes of Russian friends living and working in China.
During the event, CCTV signed multiple cooperation agreements with Kazan Federal University, the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, and BRICS TV in areas such as content co-production, personnel exchanges, technological innovation, market expansion, and the development of cultural and tourism resources.
Additionally, a photo exhibition celebrating the 75th anniversary of China-Russia diplomatic relations, organized by Xinhua News Agency and others, opened on October 19 in Kazan. It features 36 carefully selected images from Xinhua that illustrate the fruitful results of close interactions and in-depth cooperation between China and Russia across cultural, economic, and technological dimensions over the past 75 years.
