Just three days after taking office, the newly elected Executive Council of the African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF), headed by President Wahid Enitan Oshodi, has made impressive strides in engaging with the corporate world.
On October 18, a lively ceremony took place at the Ethiopian Airlines Headquarters in Addis Ababa, where the ATTF and Ethiopian Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), designating Ethiopian Airlines as the official Airline Partner for the organization.
Oshodi led the ATTF delegation, which included Mr. Tesfaye Bizane, Executive Vice President of Media and Public Relations, and Dr. Kweku Tandoh, Chief Operating Officer (COO). They received a warm welcome from Ethiopian Airlines representatives, Firiehiwot Mekonnen, Head of ET-Holidays, and Mary Legesse, Senior Sales Manager of ET-Holidays.
During the ceremony, Oshodi expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the airline’s management for supporting the 2024 ITTF Africa Senior Championships, which was held at the Ethiopian Sports Academy in Addis Ababa.
“We want to sincerely thank the management of Ethiopian Airlines for their support of the 2024 Africa Senior Championships. We truly appreciate this partnership and are eager to strengthen our collaboration with the Pride of Africa. Our goal as a continental federation is to elevate table tennis to a leading sport in Africa, and we see this partnership with a globally recognized airline as a vital step in that direction. Being part of the Global Star Alliance adds to the strength of Ethiopian Airlines, and we are excited to align ourselves with such a prestigious organization. We are optimistic that this partnership will be mutually beneficial,” Oshodi stated.
In response, Firiehiwot Mekonnen from Ethiopian Airlines expressed pride in the newly formed partnership, affirming their commitment to offer attractive packages during major events organized by the ATTF.
